Cody Rhodes sees a bright future for WWE’s creative team.
Rhodes was a guest on Unsportsmanlike on ESPN on Thursday to promote WWE WrestlePalooza. During the show, Rhodes was asked if he could see himself where Triple H is in ten years’ time. Triple H is head of creative and WWE’s Chief Content Officer. Rhodes named CM Punk and Seth Rollins as potential candidates, as well as seeing himself in the role in the future.
“I think there’s starting to become a fight for it, and I didn’t see that at first,” Rhodes said. “I thought, ‘Well, obviously I’m the best candidate.’ [laughs] I don’t know if I’m actually the best candidate. I felt like I have some experience and I would be interested in something like that, but also it’s very clear that CM Punk is really great at helping WWE develop young talent. He probably has a knack for it more than anybody. Seth Rollins is a little bit more rough around the edges, but [he] would probably be an outsstanding boss.
Cody could also see himself doing it in the future
“When it comes down to it, I would love to throw my name in the hat,” Rhodes added. “I don’t know if I’m ready to do it officially yet, but I like that fact that there’s the three of us, plus tons of others people.”
Rhodes said WWE is in good hands with Triple H right now, but believes many of the names you see on TV now might fill similar roles when they are done competing.
“Bayley, Roman [Reigns] will always have a say, just you’ve got an older locker room now, so eventually those positions, see if you’ll do good. It’s not always ‘booking.’ The industry is not easy and Triple H is doing a great job, so thankfully we have him for quite some time.”
