Fans want Tony Khan to run a big event as an answer to WrestleMania 43 moving to Saudi Arabia. Tony Khan says he’s definitely interested in doing something big in 2027.
Khan took part in a media call ahead of AEW All Out. During the call, Jason Powell of ProWrestling.net asked Khan about potential interest in running an event to counteract the loss of WrestleMania 43 not being in North America anymore. Many fans and wrestling personalities, including Bully Ray, want Khan to host a major event in the United States to counterprogram WrestleMania 43.
As it turns out, Khan says he’s interested in it too.
“I have a lot of interest in it and I can promise we’re going to run a huge event in the spring of 2027. I think Spring 2027 is going to be a great time for AEW. We’re still going to be in the peak of this massive media deal that we’ve done with Warner Bros. Discovery, we’re going to be delivering great shows,” Khan said.
Khan said they will continue to deliver great shows like Dynamite and Collision, as well as pay-per-views. One huge PPV in the spring of 2027 will be AEW Revolution. Khan touted the event being a great show for AEW in the past, singling out Revolution 2024 for setting box office records and being the site of Sting’s retirement match.
Khan also praised their work in 2025, including this year’s Revolution event in Los Angeles. He then promised to have huge plans in store for 2027, but remains focused on closing out 2025 in a big way.
“Absolutely, when people ask about the spring of 2027, I can promise we’ll have a huge AEW Revolution and a lot of big plans for then. Obviously we’re very focused on 2025. That’s obviously looking very far ahead, but there’s potential to do some big thing in the spring of 2027. I think in 2026, we’re set up very well for with major events, but also, this has been a great year for us and I hope to close it out very strong going into this Saturday afternoon with AEW All Out.”
