Shawn Michaels Issues Warning to TNA After WWE NXT Invasion

Shawn Michaels isn’t happy about TNA Wrestling’s invasion of WWE NXT.

For months, the TNA roster has made it clear that they don’t want WWE NXT stars holding their prestigious world title. Last week on The Grayson Waller Effect, WWE set up a winner-take-all match between Trick Williams and Oba Femi.

After the announcement, TNA stars showed their frustration. On NXT, the invasion felt inevitable, as teases began almost immediately. Fans saw the invasion starting when Trick Williams and Oba Femi entered the building through the parking lot.

Behind them, Eric Young, Moose, and Matt Cardona, all TNA stars, were visible. More TNA stars then appeared throughout the show. In the main event, Trick Williams faced Oba Femi with both championships on the line.

Several TNA stars appeared in the crowd. The match ended in disqualification after Williams slapped Mike Santana, who was on commentary. Following this chaos erupted as TNA stars jumped over the barricade and joined the brawl, while NXT wrestlers ran out from backstage.

Backstage, Shawn Michaels, who was running the show, posted a video from the gorilla position, signaling that the confrontation with TNA was far from over. He wrote, “This doesn’t end here @ThisIsTNA . #WeAreNXT.”

Shawn Michaels comments on potential in-ring return

On the Nightcap podcast with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco, Shawn Michaels was asked if he might return to the ring. “Not a chance. I’m so blessed and so unfortunate to have done what I’ve done. I’m so overjoyed to be doing what I do now and helping the future of WWE. Being part of that, NXT is thriving on Tuesday nights on CW Network. To help these young men and women to achieve their passions and dreams is something that I had no idea I’d enjoy this much, but it is so great. I think the business is in tremendous hands for the future.”

“I don’t [miss being in the ring]. The physical aspect, I don’t miss. The travel, I don’t miss. I’m able to still get that same charge when we’re sitting there and I’m telling a story to these talents where I’m trying to convey, ‘This is what we’re looking for out of this match, and we’re going to tell this story. This is going to happen, and at the end, hopefully they come unglued.’ When that happens and it all comes together, it’s that feeling where you watch the joy in that talent’s heart when they’re finally getting it. It’s in a different aspect that I receive that charge that I used to have when I got in the ring.”
