Under the creative leadership of Triple H, WWE is heading towards Crown Jewel 2025, and it seems that a major return is expected to unfold soon. Over the past few months, we haven’t seen Rey Mysterio on WWE television. However, the wait might be over soon as the Master of 619 is anticipated to be back at the WWE Performance Center this week.
This news surfaced in a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com (via PWInsider Elite). The source disclosed that Rey is expected at the WWE PC this week as he works towards getting medically cleared for the in-ring competition.
This seemingly indicates that we are closer to witnessing the comeback of the veteran star. The last time Mysterio competed in the squared circle was on the April 18, 2025, episode of WWE SmackDown. Here, the Hall of Famer was part of LWO along with Dragon Lee and Rey Fenix and defeated American Made’s Chad Gable, Brutus Creed and Julius Creed.
After this, Rey Mysterio went on hiatus from the squared circle due to injury. Now, it will be interesting to see what plans Triple H has for the Master of 619 as he will again compete in the ring soon.
Rey Mysterio recently appeared in a major event against his WWE’s biggest rival
Despite being on hiatus from the in-ring contest, Rey Mysterio made his presence at Triplemania XXXIII. Here, the former Royal Rumble was engaged in a segment with his WWE rival, Dominik Mysterio.
This happened when Dirty Dominik emerged as the new AAA World Champion. Already, Rey was supposed to give the title to the winner. The Judgment Day member ordered the Hall of Famer to tie the belt around his waist. Following this, he celebrated the victory with his villainous alliance.
Dominik and Rey Mysterio hold a real-life father-son relationship. However, in WWE, Dom Dom has already betrayed his father and turned heel to join sides with the Judgment Day.
