Mercedes Moné’s Open Challenge Draws Interest From A Former WWE Superstar

Mercedes Moné is a multi-title holder in the professional wrestling business. Moné not only competes in All Elite Wrestling, but she also holds eight other championships. Mercedes recently appeared on AEW Dynamite, where she laid down a challenge for next Tuesday’s special edition of Dynamite.

Soon after Mercedes declared this open challenge, former WWE star Shotzi hinted at her AEW debut and teased being the opponent for Moné next week. The hint was dropped when Shotzi reacted on the TBS Champion Twitter (X) post, where she called out any local Floridians who want to wrestle her next week.

In response to this, the ex-WWE talent posted some eye-ball emojis. The conversation doesn’t end here, as the AEW star reacted to it with a message of ‘Oh’ and a smirking face emoji. This development is a potential indication that Shotzi could make her AEW debut next week if she potentially accepts Mercedes Moné’s open challenge.

On May 3, 2025, Shotzi was released by WWE. Following this, she returned to the Independent circuit and also debuted in Major League Wrestling. Now, it remains to be seen whether the 33-year-old star is planning for her AEW debut or it was just a mere tease.
