Kurt Angle Calls This WWE Hall Of Famer The Best Of All Time

Kurt Angle has high praise for a certain WWE Hall of Famer, calling them the best of all time.

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently spoke with Sports Illustrated. While discussing his love for technical wrestling, Angle put over names like Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. But when it came to the best overall professional wrestler of all time, Angle reserved that praise for “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels.

“Oh, I love technical wrestlers,” Kurt Angle said. “Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, the technical wrestlers. Undertaker was a great technical wrestler. Stone Cold Steve Austin. There were a lot of great ones. Now, The Rock could be technical, but he was more of an action-packed kind of guy, and I love working with him, because his pace was unbelievable, and that’s what I liked was a high-paced match.

“But no, I like technical-style matches the most. I have to say my best matches were with Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. Overall, I consider Shawn to be the greatest in the sport. If you’re talking looks, promo skills, and wrestling ability, everything wrapped into one, that guy is perhaps the best of all time.” [H/T: Fightful]

Kurt Angle’s epic rivalry with Shawn Michaels

Their final match took place on the January 16, 2006 episode of RAW, which saw Michaels get the final victory in their rivalry.

In terms of one-on-one contests, Michaels defeated Angle in five of their six matches.
