AEW Star Blasts Media Outlet For Posting ‘Erotic’ Photo Of Her

AEW star Mina Shirakawa is unhappy with Weekly Fight for using AI photos of her and Toni Storm.

At AEW DreamWrestle 2025, Shirakawa and Toni Storm both had a difficult night, losing their respective matches. Shirakawa lost to Mercedes Mone in a Winner Takes All match for the AEW TBS Championship and Interim ROH Women’s World Television Championship, while Storm was defeated by Kris Statlander for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

Following their losses, Mina Shirakawa and Toni Storm shared a backstage moment during an interview, comforting and hugging each other. Shirakawa later reacted to their backstage moment by posting their backstage photos on X, formerly known as Twitter.

She wrote, “We have each other.” However, after Shirakawa’s post, Japanese e-publication Weekly Fight published an article about their friendship and the photos posted by Shirakawa. The publication described their hug as “erotically explosive” and “the sexiest bond in AEW history.”

In response, Shirakawa criticized the publication and said a photo they used wasn’t one she shared, but said it was an AI-generated image.

“What’s so explosively erotic about this photo?? And the photo used in the first image of the article isn’t one I posted; it’s one where someone took my photo without permission and edited it into a swimsuit photo using AI,” she wrote on Twitter/X. “It was a really unpleasant experience for me. I really don’t want it to be used labeled as an “official Minami Shirakawa” photo.”
