AEW Star Sparks Exit Speculation With Social Media Change Amid Lengthy TV Absence

AEW star Sammy Guevara has fueled fresh speculation about his future after making a noticeable change to his social media profile.

The update comes as the former TNT Champion continues to spend extended periods away from AEW television. This prolonged absence leaves fans wondering whether something bigger is unfolding behind the scenes.

For now, however, one important detail suggests the situation may not be as straightforward as it appears.

Sammy Guevara’s social media update raises questions about his AEW future

Guevara recently removed all references to AEW from his X bio before posting a brief message that read, “New bio.” The change quickly caught the attention of fans, many of whom questioned whether it signaled the end of his time with the company.

Despite the online speculation, Guevara remains listed on AEW’s official roster page. As of now, there has been no confirmation that he is leaving the promotion.

The timing of the change is notable. Guevara, one of AEW’s original “Four Pillars,” has been used sparingly on television in recent months. His most recent appearance came on Collision during the first week of June, while his last match on Dynamite took place in January.

The former TNT Champion also addressed his absence during an interview with MuscleManMalcom, explaining that decisions about his television time are not in his hands.

“Put in a word. Tell Tony. Honestly, man, you know that’s obviously not my call.”

Guevara reflected on his role in AEW history, recalling that he competed against Cody Rhodes in the opening match of the very first episode of Dynamite. He also pointed to his most recent AEW World Championship opportunity against Darby Allin, revealing how little notice he received.

“The last time I was in AEW, I was gonna wrestle Darby for the world title. I was given a couple of hours’ notice. I just tried to do the best I could.”

Removing a company name from a social media bio doesn’t necessarily mean a departure is imminent. Still, after months of limited television appearances, Guevara’s latest move has added another twist to the story. Whether it’s the start of a character reset or simply social media housekeeping, fans are now watching this situation more closely than a referee counting a near fall.
