Natalya has revealed the name of the WWE legend who dressed as Big Bird at her childhood birthday party.
Former WWE Women’s Champion Natalya was a guest on The Velvet Ropes podcast to talk about her new book, The Last Hart Beating. Apart from answering questions about her life and career, Natalya also addressed a photo she posted on Twitter/X, which showed someone posing with her father Jim Neidhart, dressed as the Muppets character Big Bird.
Natalya revealed that it was the late WWE Hall of Famer Rick Rude who was wearing the costume. She also talked about the bond between Rick Rude and her family.
“Rick Rude was one of my dad’s best friends,” Natalya said. But yeah, growing up, Rick was at my birthday party, and he was dressed up as Big Bird.”
“When we were kids, Rick was always, you know, he lived very close to us, and yeah, Rick was dressed as Big Bird. I remember one Easter, Rick had bought bunny rabbits for us, and he bought, imagine somebody for Easter giving you real bunnies. Rick bought us bunnies, and we had bunnies as a gift.”
Natalya Revealed That A Former Women’s World Champion Got Emotional Over Her New Book
Speaking to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Natalya revealed that Bianca Belair was the first one to read the manuscript of her new book, The Last Hart Beating. She stated that Belair became emotional after reading the book and wished that she had read it before the start of her career.
“The very first person actually to read my book was Bianca Belair. We were on an overseas trip together and we were just talking about the book and just chatting back and forth.”
“I told her I was writing a book and I said, ‘Actually, I just finished it. Do you want to take a look at the manuscript?’ and she said, ‘Yeah, I’d love to.’ She read the book in two days and she was so excited. Every single chapter, she would be like, texting me and like, ‘I can’t believe this and I need to talk about this and what happened.’”
“She’s like, ‘I read it so fast. It was such an easy read.’ But she’s like, ‘I have a million questions. I had no idea that this was your life.’ So she even got a little emotional about it. She’s like, ‘This is something that I need. Like, I needed this book.’ She goes, ‘I wish I would have read this book before I started my career in WWE because this book lifted me up so much. It’s so powerful.’
