This Halloween season, many are channeling their inner wrestlers and wrestling personalities. Such is the case with a superfan named Danielle, who is sporting the signature ensemble of the late Judy Bagwell, mother of former WCW star Marcus “Buff” Bagwell.
Deathmatch wrestler Nathan Mowery forwarded images of Danielle’s costume to Buff Bagwell, which later gained his stamp of approval.
“Hey Marcus! This is Nathan Mowery. Don’t know if this is your current number or not, but one of my friends dressed up as your mom and I wanted to send it your way. Hope all is well,” read Nathan’s text message (screenshot shared by Danielle, also known as @danileightweets on X).
“That’s absolutely incredible!” Buff wrote in response. “My mother would love it! Thanks, Nathan! It was great seeing you the other day in Cartersville! Great match.”
Judy Bagwell died at the age of 78 in 2021 after a battle with dementia. Two decades before that, wrestling fans saw her thrust into a storyline with Ricky Steiner. After Buff Bagwell turned on him, Steiner selected Kenny Kaos as his new co-WCW World Tag Team Champion. Due to Kaos later sustaining an injury, Steiner then chose Judy Bagwell to serve as his replacement.
In 2000, Judy was suspended from a forklift for a Judy Bagwell on a Pole Match at WCW New Blood Rising, where if Chris Kanyon defeated Buff, Judy would have been his valet. Fortunately for Judy, Buff secured the victory with a double blockbuster on Kanyon and an interfering David Arquette.
