WWE Star Credits AJ Lee For Her Starting Therapy

AJ Lee continues to inspire this generation of wrestlers.

Last month, former Divas Champion AJ Lee returned to WWE to side with her husband CM Punk in feud against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. En route to their mixed tag match at Wrestlepalooza, Lee noted that her 10-year journey back to WWE had entailed a number of highs and lows. With the help of therapy, though, Lee says she turned her mental chaos into her superpower.

On this week’s episode of WWE Evolve, veteran wrestler Wendy Choo revealed that Lee’s message gave her hope when it came to her own therapy sessions. “When I saw AJ Lee talk about therapy on Raw, it was the first time in a really long time that I felt hope,” Choo told her therapist in a new vignette.

Later on X, Choo reiterated that “Mother @TheAJMendez says to do therapy, so we do therapy.”

Elsewhere in this week’s therapy session, Choo cited issues with fellow WWE star Chantel Monroe, who previously stated that no medications could fix Choo’s brain. After hearing that, Choo admitted to feeling “angry.” At the same time, Choo feels “free” to be herself.

“I get it now, I couldn’t move forward because I didn’t give myself compassion and understanding,” she added. “I wasn’t connected to me, but that’s all going to change. And everyone, including Chantel Monroe, is going to see a whole new side of Wendy Choo.”

As of writing, there is no word on if Choo’s mention of AJ Lee will translate to a potential on-screen collaboration.
