AJ Styles recently said a rising WWE star reminds him of Chad Gable.
Gable is widely regarded as one of wrestling’s best technicians. His recent rise as El Grande Americano only boosted his popularity further. Following his success in AAA and eventual unmasking, Gable returned to WWE main roster with massive fan support behind him.
Styles has also praised Gable’s current momentum before. The WWE veteran believes the company should take advantage of Gable’s popularity while it lasts. Now, Styles has compared an NXT standout to the former Olympian.
AJ Styles compares Kendal Grey to Chad Gable
Speaking on The Phenomenally Retro Podcast, Styles praised Kendal Grey’s athletic ability and wrestling background. He even called her the women’s division version of Chad Gable. He said, “I was thinking about how good she was and how to describe her. She’s the Chad Gable of women. She has that kind of… because she was a wrestler. That was her background. It was a wrestler.”
“Dude, the way she moves, I was like, that’s Chad Gable stuff. The only reason why I’m not comparing her and Chad to Kurt Angle because Chad Gable or Kurt Angle, it’s the same. I’ve wrestled both of them. I can tell you. It’s exactly the same. They have scary motors on them that they don’t get tired. The way that they move it’s just so fluid. Grey has quietly become one of NXT’s breakout stars. Her performances over recent months have impressed many fans. She has continued building momentum with every appearance. This weekend, Grey will receive a huge opportunity. She is scheduled to challenge Lola Vice at NXT The Great American Bash.
