AEW star Toa Liona reacts to helping raise more than $400,000 for a diabetes fundraiser.
Former ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion Toa Liona previously revealed that his daughter has been battling Type 1 Diabetes. He also announced a fundraiser and encouraged fans and supporters to contribute to the cause.
The AEW star recently shared a heartwarming update, confirming that the initiative has raised $448,034 for the fight against Type 1 Diabetes. Liona also took a moment to acknowledge The Demand, the All Elite Wrestling stable featuring himself, Bishop Kaun and Ricochet.
“Hey guys, we just finished the walk,” Liona said. “With all the donations from the Breakthrough T1D Walk fundraiser, we were able to raise over $446,000 for our mocap. So from us, Lulu’s Pride, and every other team involved, we all just want to say thank you. And we will continue to fight until we find a cure — and that’s a demand.”
The Demand were last seen in trios action at AEW WrestleDream, where they lost to The Hurt Syndicate (MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin) in a world trios title No. 1 contendership tornado tag team match.
