Two More Matches Announced For John Cena’s The Last Time Is Now Tournament

Two more matches in the tournament to figure out John Cena‘s last opponent have officially been announced.

During Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, the company announced the next two matches set to take place. The first match pits two big stars against one another, as The Miz and Jey Uso go head-to-head with a chance to advance. The next will pit LA Knight against a mystery opponent, with SmackDown GM saying he’d prefer to keep the opponent a “surprise” for now.

During Saturday Night’s Main Event, WWE announced that next week’s episode of RAW would kickstart a 16-man tournament. Titled The Last Time is Now Tournament. The tournament’s winner will be the one to face off against Cena at his final ever match, on the December 13, 2025 rendition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The tournament will feature competitors from RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and, in a surprise twist, even people who don’t work at WWE. This opens the door to any number of potential surprise entrants, all of whom would likely love to be Cena’s last opponent.

With the tournament set to feature stars from outside of WWE as well, fans quickly began speculating what exactly that could mean. Many began to theorize that this could mean stars like Adam Copeland could make their way in. However, it’s more likely we’ll see names like Joe Hendry and Matt Cardona instead.

Although that scenario seems unlikely, we’ll have to wait and see how the tournament plays out to see who Cena faces last.
