More Details On Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize Walking Out Of AEW Collision

More details have emerged on the Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize situation in AEW.

PWInsider had reported that Nixon Newell (FKA Tegan Nox in WWE) and Miranda Alize walked out of the November 8 AEW Collision taping after they refused to lose to TayJay at the event. However, a recent report from Fightful (via Fightful Select) has revealed that wasn’t the case.

The new report states they did not refuse to lose the match but had requested more time after being informed that it would last only three minutes. The two left about an hour before the show, after they were told the time for the show had already been budgeted out and set.

There was reportedly an immediate and intense reaction internally from AEW personalities, with one saying Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize were talented and that there was a push to “help Newell out” after she stated that she wasn’t getting many bookings back in June. Another staff member noted that they were disappointed with the situation, as it seemed out of character for Newell.

Fightful then confirmed earlier reports of Maya World and Hyan getting a lot of praise for stepping in on such short notice to take Newell and Alize’s place against TayJay.

The report also mentioned there was some conflicting information about how Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize’s first match on AEW went. Newell and Alize took on Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne in their debut, and word around the locker room was that the former Tegan Nox was not happy about how the match was booked.

There were reportedly concerns about Megan Bayne selling for Newell and Alize. However, since she and Shafir were being established as a strong new team, that wasn’t a decision Bayne could make on her own, as AEW stars would normally clear that up with producers or coaches about when working with unsigned talent.

Another source also claimed that the frustration on Megan Bayne’s face during the match was legitimate due to what appeared to be a lack of cooperation on some of the spots.

The report also mentioned that one of Nixon Newell’s long-time friends stated that while Newell was excited about her debut, she was disappointed that the match was so short. Another source also claimed that Newell wanted to just get it over with after how the match was set up.

Fightful then noted that they reached out to Nixon Newell, who denied there was any disagreement, saying, “No we had no disagreement, Miranda and I are really the only ones that have the details about how yesterday went.”

Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize had previously responded to the earlier reports on the former’s Twitch stream, clarifying that there was no drama or tension between them and AEW.
