John Cena is officially a grand slam champion.
During Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, Cena faced off against Dominik Mysterio for his WWE Intercontinental Championship. The match came together after Cena and Mysterio clashed on the mic to start the show, before Mysterio put his title on the line. The match itself was an incredible affair, but Cena came out on top thanks to some late heroics.
Toward the end of the match, Mysterio hit Cena with the 619, but missed a frog splash after Cena caught him. He then stood up and hit an Attitude Adjustment on Mysterio for the win. After promising a big night, Cena delivered, and celebrated with his newfound belt. With the win, Cena officially completed the trek to being a Grand Slam Champion in WWE.
With just three appearances left, too, John Cena is bound to have a title defense match at some point. Whether that will come next week on WWE RAW or at Survivor Series, or even his last match, remains to be seen.
