AEW Star Confirms Injury Keeping Her From Competing

An AEW star has confirmed that a neck injury is keeping her from competing in the ring.

Speaking in a new vlog on her YouTube channel, AEW star Queen Aminata opened up about her neck injury. She made the video before the taping of the November 5 episode of Dynamite, where she was taken out of her match against Megan Bayne and was also removed from the following week’s Women’s Blood and Guts match, with Mina Shirakawa replacing her in both.

Aminata shared that her neck was tight and that she couldn’t move it. She stated that she’d rather be out of action for a few weeks than risk getting sidelined for months by trying to push through with the injury.

“I was not cleared, because my neck is so tight,” Queen Aminata began, “I cannot even move it a little bit. And because of that, I got taken out of the match today, and that resulted in me being taken out of Blood and Guts.

“But you know what? I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Safety comes first. I’d rather be out for two to three weeks than be out for six months. And it hurts because I feel like I’ve put in the work to be part of this historical moment in women’s wrestling in AEW for the past seven to nine months.

“I’m disappointed, but I know the team here at AEW and medical are trying their best to make me understand that they’re doing this for my own good, for my own wellbeing.”
