Seth Rollins says some WWE main roster stars are just there for the money.
Amid his absence from WWE television due to a shoulder injury, former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and his wife, Becky Lynch, spoke to comedian Bert Kreischer on the latest episode of Something’s Burning.
When asked if there is anyone in WWE who doesn’t actually love wrestling, Seth Rollins said, “Yes… Because it’s the paycheck, right, it’s a job. So, there’s plenty of people that will do the job if they’re getting paid to do it. Some people turn to it, and they love it after. It becomes like a love.”
Seth Rollins also pointed out how the WWE schedule has become lighter now. But he also said it’s still a painful and mentally draining process and that no one can survive in the pro wrestling business if they’re not passionate about it.
“I don’t think anybody stays in it for a career if they don’t love it, because it will wipe you out. I mean, it is a painful (points to his injured shoulder) as you see physically, and a mentally draining experience.
“Now, the schedule is way lighter than it used to be,” Seth Rollins continued, “We still travel every week, but we’re not doing nearly as many shows. Back in the day, we were doing 200 matches a year. That would weed people out very quickly if they didn’t love it. They would just get exhausted, burn out so fast they’d quit.
“But yeah, there’s plenty of people I would say now on the main roster that don’t really have a love for it necessarily.”
