Becky Lynch reflected on the days when female stars were required to wear revealing outfits in WWE.
Former WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch appeared alongside her husband, Seth Rollins, on Something’s Burning with Bert Kreischer. During the conversation, Lynch recalled her earlier days in WWE as an extra when the company required female stars to dress up in revealing outfits, “as hoey as possible”, during the events.
“At the time, when you’re a girl in WWE, you always had to go to the shows in nice dresses. I was an extra, I was in NXT, you have to be as hoey as possible. You have to be like dress up to your ass, low as can be. This was the aesthetic. I didn’t suit the aesthetic, but anyway.”
Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins Also Reflected On One Of Their First Meetings
Speaking further, Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins also reflected on one of their early meetings and how their relationship evolved from that point.
“But anyway, when you go up, you’re supposed to shake hands with everybody, like, that’s the wrestling thing. You shake hands; otherwise, you’re dead. So I see him (Seth Rollins), and I’m like, ‘Oh, I gotta go say hi.’
Seth Rollins chimed in, saying, “So, she comes, says hi to me, introduces herself, and I go, ‘Hey, what’s your story, kid,’ and she just went off for like 45 minutes. I expected a short interaction, a quick flirt, and then we’d be gone at the end of it. But she went off on her story.
“You were an engaging Speaker (talking to Becky Lynch), so it was an easy conversation. But some girls used to say, ‘Hey, what’s your story,’ and they used to go, ‘Uhh, I did cheerleading for a little while, and then I just got signed, and here I am.’
“She gave me this, and I was like, ‘Oh, shi* this person’s interesting.’ Now, mind you, I’m in a relationship at this time. I don’t even think I was romantically interested aside from the fact that she was hot. I was just like, ‘Oh, this is the hot chick, let me just say hi.’ She was saying hi, let me ask questions. Okay, move on with our lives.
“But from that point on, we maintained a bit of a friendship. A little bit here and there, and we went to a concert together. She’d tell me really bad puns, and then she started asking me stuff about wrestling, just advice here and there.”
