Booker T Dedicates New Championship To Houston Wrestling Legend

Booker T has dedicated a new championship to Houston wrestling legend Paul Boesch.

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has introduced the new Legacy Championship in his promotion, Reality of Wrestling. Taking to X/Twitter, the former world champion stated that he has dedicated the title to wrestling legend, Paul Boesch, whom he grew up watching and admiring.

Booker T also noted that the title belt is designed after Paul Boesch’s ring, which the latter’s wife sold to him 20 years ago.

“Growing up in Houston, I was just a kid in the Sam Houston Coliseum watching Paul Boesch make this city the wrestling city. Never thought I’d end up in the same business, carrying that legacy forward with Reality of Wrestling.

“Over 20 years ago, Paul’s wife sold me his ring—the ring he wore through Houston Wrestling’s glory days. I’ve worn it ever since as a reminder of who paved the way.

“Today, we honor that history with something new: the @TheOfficialROW Legacy Championship, exclusive to our GLORY brand and designed after Paul Boesch’s ring itself.

“To whoever holds it first—this isn’t just a title. It’s Houston. It’s responsibility. It’s legacy,” Booker T posted.

Booker T Referred To AEW As A Retirement Spot

Speaking in a recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T addressed the speculations surrounding Chris Jericho’s AEW status. He suggested Jericho might return to AEW and took a shot at Tony Khan’s company in the process.

Booker T claimed AEW pays people not to work, citing Ric Flair’s lack of involvement in AEW television as an example. He also noted that he would’ve loved to be a part of the company back in the day under such financial arrangements.

“I wish they had AEW when I was doing this thing. I would’ve camped out. Made me a little tent. I would be going nowhere, man. Because I’m serious, man, they pay you not to work in AEW.

Ric Flair is still under contract, from what I’ve been hearing. What has he done? What has Ric Flair done for AEW? It’s a safe haven, it’s definitely a retirement spot if you’re definitely looking to wrap this thing up the right way,” Booker T said.
