Carlos Silva Expects TNA Will Be Live More Often On AMC

Carlos Silva is very happy that TNA landed a major TV deal, but his focus remains on ending 2025 on a high note.

TNA President Carlos Silva spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard about the promotion’s new media rights deal with AMC. Silva touted being on the ‘first page’ of fans’ channel guides now and shared how often they can expect TNA to air live in 2026.

Silva previously said a new media rights deal would provide TNA the opportunity to go live 52 weeks a year. He didn’t go as far as saying that it would definitely happen. However, Silva teased that TNA will still be live more often than fans are used to.

“Probably in the first six months, I would say we’re probably going to be live a few more times than we’re usually live. We want to be live more often,” Silva noted. “There’s still some logistics and operations issues to moving the crew around and finding the right locations so many times. So, certainly, in the first six months, it’s going to be a combination of live and taped.

“I’m a live guy, we’ve got some operational issues and workflow issues with the new network partner in AMC. We’d like to be live more often. But I think we’re going to be smart and work through this partnership in the first three months, then six months, so that we do things well, the way that we know how to do them,” Silva continued. “And then we’ll be able to pivot and do even more. I know the fans love live, I know the wrestlers love live, and I love live, but we’ve just got to be smart about it, how to do it and when to do it, so we do it well.”

How much TNAMC crossover will there be?

Regarding any potential crossover promotions, Silva says TNA and AMC have put various teams together to figure out what works for both sides. He said both sides have discussed those opportunities, and those talks will accelerate now that the TV deal is done. However, nothing is set in stone yet.

The TNA President also reacted to the belief that WWE ‘helped’ TNA with the AMC deal. Silva pointed out that NXT and TNA working together on TV helped a great deal. However, he clarified that TNA put the media rights agreement together with Creative Artists Agency.

“I think it depends on what ‘help’ means. Look, WWE and NXT elevated TNA in a big way throughout the entire year. Slammiversary ended up being a great event. AJ Styles was a big part of making that a memorable event. So many of the things that we’ve done on The CW with Shawn Michaels and Johnny Russo down at the Performance Center, in Tampa, at Madison Square Garden last week where Lei Ying [Lee] won the [TNA Knockouts title] back, they’ve all been because of them.

“But [TNA] worked to get this deal ourselves and [WWE], they’re busy doing a lot of stuff every single day. They supported us along the way and helped us in the ring and around the promotion. But we led the deal inside the organization, along with our partner on the deal; we had CAA help us, and they were great to work with. Once we got rolling with AMC, it was not a short process. But it was a really good process, and we finally got it done.”

What should fans look forward to in El Paso for TNA Final Resolution?

Before TNA gets to the AMC premiere in January, the promotion has a final set of tapings in El Paso. Silva touted TNA’s Family Fun Day on Sunday, December 7, which includes an Elegant Elves photoshoot and the annual TNA Holiday Toy Drive, as part of the fun. He also noted that fans can expect some stories to wrap up, while others will lead to January’s tapings.

“[Closing out the year] is a great way to say it, because that’s how I was going to characterize it too. It’s a great, three-night transition to close out 2025 and then launch us into the debut on AMC on January 15. For the fans, they’re going to see some ‘resolutions’ so that they can really put that to bed. But then, they’re also going to be left with some things that are going to build as we get closer to January 15.”

“I’m looking forward to wrapping up the 2025 season there. We were there earlier this year and the fans—even Mexican fans that came from over the border into El Paso to watch the show—were very appreciative of it. I think it’s going to be a great three days there, it’s a great wrestling market.”
