Two Major WWE Superstars Cast As Mentors On WWE LFG Season 3 — Report

Two major wrestling veterans are stepping into WWE LFG Season 3 as mentors.

According to PWInsider (via PWInsider Elite), Kevin Owens and Natalya have officially been cast as mentors in WWE LFG Season 3. Fightful (via Fightful Select) is also reporting the same.

The show is currently filming and is also undergoing some format changes. The Undertaker, who served as a mentor in the first two seasons, and his wife, WWE Hall of Famer Michelle McCool, who joined in season two, will not be part of the upcoming season.

Hence, Kevin Owens, who is currently out of action after undergoing neck surgery, and Natalya have stepped in as replacements. They will be joining WWE Hall of Famers Booker T and Bully Ray.

WWE LFG features up-and-coming wrestlers from WWE’s developmental system competing for an NXT contract under the guidance of some established names. Tyra Mae Steele and Jasper Troy won Season 1, and Skylar Raye and Shiloh Hill emerged as the winners of Season 2.

WWE LFG Talent Opened Up About Her Release

Speaking with WrestleZone‘s Ella Jay, WWE LFG Season 2 contestant Summer Sorrell opened up about her release from the company. She attributed her WWE exit to a back injury she sustained during her track and field days.

“I have been so not injury prone my entire athletic career. I never had a major injury in gymnastics. Track and field, the only thing I ever struggled with was my back, and I knew that was going to be a challenge coming into wrestling. That was a big reason where I thought I could never do it as well…. My first six months at the PC, I never had a problem with it, but then after that it was just in and out of the ring, in and out.”

Speaking further, Sorrell said that she understands why WWE released her.

“I know why I was released and I understand why I was released. I understand that this is a business, and I agree with that, to be honest with you. Do wish I was able to stay longer, of course, because I have so much left to offer. Have no doubt in my mind that every other aspect of this I’m going to be able to perfect and be amazing at. I really believe that.”
