The star of iconic video game franchise speaks on John Cena’s WWE retirement match.
John Cena’s WWE sendoff has been the talk of the town ever since he announced his retirement at Money in the Bank 2024. The former 17-time World Champion competed in his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Cena did not go over, and the finish ultimately divided the internet. Some fans justified Cena tapping out to Gunther in his final match, while others were more critical, claiming The GOAT let down thousands of Make-A-Wish kids by submitting to his opponent.
Roger Clark on John Cena’s final WWE match
Roger Clark, the voice of Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption II, recently weighed in on the debate surrounding the finish of John Cena vs. Gunther at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
“I know some of you disagree, but John Cena’s last match was one of the most poetic things I’ve ever seen in the WWE. Time waits for no one but he controlled his goodbye,” he said.
In follow-up posts, Clark suggested that Gunther could cross paths with AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar in the future, writing: “And now AJ Styles is gonna grind Gunther into the mat!”
WWE appeared to tease a feud between AJ Styles and Gunther on WWE RAW this past Monday, as cameras caught The Phenomenal One staring a hole through The Ring General following the opening in-ring promo segment.
As for Brock Lesnar, Gunther has previously spoken about wanting to square off against The Beast in singles action.
