Andrade El Idolo’s WWE Non-Compete Seemingly Comes To An End

It certainly appears that Andrade El Idolo‘s WWE non-compete has come to an end.

It’s been a crazy roller coaster ride for Andrade El Idolo in recent months. After having WWE terminate his contract back in September, El Idolo hit the independent scene before making his shocking return to AEW at the 6th anniversary of Dynamite on October 1.

However, Andrade would disappear from AEW programming just as quickly as he appeared after WWE informed him he was under a one-year non-compete due to being terminated. A non-compete that restricted him from wrestling worldwide.

In recent weeks, Andrade revealed that his lawyers had been in contact with WWE to reach a settlement on the non-compete. It seems that over the last two weeks, major progress has been made between the two sides.

Last weekend, El Idolo returned to the independent scene for WWC in Puerto Rico, winning their Universal Championship. This effectively ended the worldwide ban on his WWE non-compete. But that’s not all.

Last night, Andrade made a surprise appearance at House of Glory at the NYC Arena in Jamaica, New York. He would waste no time by attacking House of Glory World Champion Charles Mason and making a declaration that he was coming for the title.

When will Andrade El Idolo return to AEW?

With Andrade making a wrestling appearance in New York last night, it would certainly appear his non-compete with WWE has come to an end.

So what does that mean for El Idolo and AEW?

It’s worth pointing out that AEW is in New York this weekend to tape next week’s episodes of Dynamite and Collision. With Andrade already in New York, we could potentially see him return to the company as soon as next week, heading into Worlds End.

Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
