Darby Allin was involved in another wild spot at AEW Worlds End.
The former TNT Champion faced Gabe Kidd in a bloodbath of a match at the December 27 pay-per-view event. Early in the bout, Kidd trapped Darby’s upper body beneath the steel steps before driving him head-first, causing the steel plate to fall off the steps.
The impact left Darby Allin bleeding from the head. Darby later retaliated by busting his opponent wide open as the match progressed. Other major moments from the bout included Kidd throwing Darby back-first into the timekeeper’s area and Darby delivering a Coffin Drop on the outside.
The finish saw Darby catch Gabe Kidd off guard with a surprise pinfall victory.
Gabe Kidd challenged Darby Allin to a match at AEW Worlds End after previously throwing him down a flight of stairs on Dynamite. The NJPW star was also partially responsible for Darby being thrown through a flaming table at AEW Blood and Guts.
Fans will have to wait and see whether Tony Khan has a lengthy feud planned for the two following tonight’s brutal encounter. Khan had previously replaced Darby with “Jungle” Jack Perry in the Continental Classic, the final of which will take place later tonight at the pay-per-view.
