This NJPW star has called out Darby Allin for a match at AEW Worlds End.
During tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, a vignette featuring New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Gabe Kidd aired. The clip showed Kidd mocking Darby Allin for sending him down a flight of stairs before issuing a challenge for a match at Worlds End.
It is worth noting that Gabe Kidd attacked Allin during the Blood and Guts match on November 12. Kidd also lit a table on fire during the bout before PAC sent Allin crashing through the flaming table.
Darby Allin has not competed in an AEW ring since the Thanksgiving Eve episode of Dynamite, where he suffered an injury during his Continental Classic match against Kevin Knight. According to a report from Dave Meltzer, Allin sustained a head injury from a “singular blow,” rather than from the coast-to-coast dropkick.
During a previous episode of AEW Collision, a video featuring Allin aired in which he explained that he would be forced to miss the remainder of the tournament. He cited a recent hospitalization as the reason, noting that AEW doctors had removed him from the competition.
Allin was replaced by “Jungle” Jack Perry in the Continental Classic. Speaking of the tournament, Konosuke Takeshita defeated Orange Cassidy in their match earlier on tonight’s show. Fans can catch up on everything currently happening on AEW Dynamite here.
