It’s Time For A Cody Rhodes Heel Turn, Says WWE Hall of Famer

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff believes the time is right for WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes to turn heel.

Speaking on a special edition of the 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff was asked by a fan whether a heel turn for Cody Rhodes could be in the cards for 2026. Bischoff made it clear that he does believe it’s coming. He suggested the change should happen naturally rather than through a sudden shock moment.

He said, “I do. I’m feeling a little bit when I see Cody come out and hear him in his promos. I just I think it’s time, not right now, not today, but sometime this year, I think it will almost become a natural evolution, which is the way it should, instead of the oh, let’s come up with a dastardly heel turn.”

Eric Bischoff also added he prefers long-term storytelling when it comes to major character changes. “I like, as I talked about with John and Rock and all that, I really like a slow build. I want somebody to get me really sucked into the story before that happens. But I think it’s time for Cody.” [H/T: wrestlingnews.co]

As of now, Rhodes who’s a babyface is currently set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre in a brutal Three Stages of Hell match on 9th January edition of SmackDown in Berlin.

With the road to WrestleMania 42 set to begin following the Royal Rumble. Recent reports suggest WWE is currently planning for Rhodes to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. Those plans could shift, however, as the originally discussed match between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins remains uncertain due to Rollins’ injury status.
