Hangman Page Is Happy Fans Think He’s AEW’s Main Character, Even If He Doesn’t

Hangman Page is grateful that fans see him as AEW‘s main character despite not sharing the same sentiment.

Adam Page completed his redemption arc by defeating Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at All In: Texas. The finish of the match saw Page choke Moxley with a steel chain until The Death Rider submitted.

Hangman Page later lost the title to Samoa Joe inside a steel cage at AEW Full Gear. However, he closed out 2025 as All Elite Wrestling’s top merchandise seller, a testament to his popularity among fans.

Speaking to Uncrowned’s Cameron Hawkins, Page reacted to being called AEW’s “main character” by fans and peers, noting that while he is grateful for the compliment, he does not share the same opinion about himself.

“[Being a focal point of AEW] only matters to me in the sense that I’m grateful that wrestling fans or even my peers, watching on or being a part of the shows, can see the things that I’ve done and appreciate them to that level,” Page tells Uncrowned as the year comes to a close.

“I just think of myself [as someone] who goes to work on Wednesday and tries to do the best job that I can with what the day’s work includes. … I don’t see myself as the main character of a show. But if that’s how some fans take it, or some of my peers might take it, I can just be grateful and think that must mean that they think I’ve done a good job.”

Hangman Page is advertised for AEW Dynamite: New Year’s Smash tonight. WrestleZone’s live coverage of the show begins at 8 p.m. EST here.
