AEW Chief Legal Officer Megha Parekh recalls getting a compliment from Mike Tyson.
Megha Parekh is the Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of the Jacksonville Jaguars and holds a similar position in AEW. She has worked with the Khan family since 2013 and is known for her ability to remain calm in tough negotiations.
During her recent appearance on Negotiation Warriors, Parekh opened up about her interaction with Mike Tyson backstage during one of his guest appearances in AEW. She recounted a story from May 2021 when an intruder broke into her home while she was sleeping on her couch. Upon waking up and seeing the person, she used her self-defense lessons to her advantage and punched him right in the throat (where she learned was a vulnerable place to hit) before running to her neighbors’ house to call 911.
The AEW executive received some high praise from Mike Tyson
Tyson, who was aware of the story, praised the AEW executive, calling her the toughest person over there, and gifted her a punching bag.
“I did have the opportunity to meet Mike Tyson twice while he was a guest on AEW. The only reason that I ended up being the person that escorted him in is that, as much as I may want to have like my fan reaction to people, I do try really hard just to be calm and professional when I meet people of that sort. So people tend to really appreciate that. Especially managers of talent who know that they just want someone who’s going to leave them alone and like get them to where they need to go,” Parekh said.
“So the second time I met Mike Tyson, he said to me, he goes, ‘You might be the toughest person around here.’ Again, I had to sort of hold myself up in that moment, and he sent me a punching bag, which is sitting in my garage right now. But what an incredible compliment or like pinch-me moment that was for me,” the AEW executive said.
