A former WWF tag team is campaigning for a 2026 WWE Hall of Fame induction.
The Jumping Bomb Angels, a female Japanese tag team consisting of Noriyo Tateno and Itsuki Yamazaki, have launched an official Change.org petition to urge WWE to induct them into the 2026 Hall of Fame. They shared the petition on X/Twitter, saying:
“Our New Year’s resolution is to gather enough support to get into the @WWE
Hall of Fame! Please sign if you have time! Thank you and Happy New Year!!! #WWEHOF #JBA4HOF.”
Noriyo Tateno and Itsuki Yamazaki were one of the most well-known teams on the Japanese Women’s Wrestling circuit during their time in All Japan Women’s Pro Wrestling in the 1980s. They signed with WWE(FKA WWF) in June 1987 and had a short stint until June 1988. They won the WWF Women’s Tag Team Championship at the inaugural WWE Royal Rumble event in 1988 and had a 136-day reign with the title.
The Jumping Bomb Angels Believe They Deserve A WWE Hall of Fame Induction
The Jumping Bomb Angels believe that, despite their short stint with the company, they deserve a WWE Hall of Fame induction because of their “contribution to the evolution of wrestling.”
A part of the petition’s description reads:
“Though their time in the spotlight was relatively short, the Jumping Bomb Angels left an indelible mark on WWE’s (formerly WWF) women’s division. Among their most memorable accomplishments was winning the WWF Women’s Tag Team Championship at the inaugural Survivor Series in 1987 (it actually took place at the inaugural Royal Rumble in 1988), defeating The Glamour Girls (Leilani Kai and Judy Martin) in what would become a series of classic matches. Their innovative wrestling style and teamwork set new standards for excellence in women’s wrestling.
“Despite their profound influence and contribution to the evolution of wrestling, the Jumping Bomb Angels have yet to be acknowledged with a rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame. Inducting them into the Hall of Fame would not only honor their remarkable achievements and contributions to the wrestling world but also recognize the historical significance of international stars in WWE’s rich legacy.”
The petition has received 570 verified signatures so far, and it will be interesting to see if WWE gets notice of this and decides to induct the Jumping Bomb Angels into the 2026 Hall of Fame.
