TNA iMPACT Results
We get a recap of last week’s TNA Wrestling featuring The System’s in-ring promo as well as Frankie Kazarian retaining his world title against number one contender Bear Bronson.
The Hardys kick off TNA iMPACT
TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys make their way to the ring. Matt talks about their upcoming match. He calls out The Righteous for kidnapping him and turning their locker room into “some sick shrine with pictures of our families.” Matt tells Vincent and Dutch they’ve committed blasphemy.
Jeff tells The Righteous to step up and face them like real men. The music hits and Vincent and Dutch arrive. Vincent offers an apology. Matt interrupts them. The Hardys want to delete The Righteous from TNA. Vincent says they’d love to share the ring with Matt and Jeff. Dutch drops more riddles, teasing the arrival of “many.” Vincent calls The Hardys by their shoot name. The Righteous just want friendly competition.
Matt is pissed. He wants Vincent and Dutch to man up “right here, right now in El Paso, Texas.” Vincent says they can’t do that because they aren’t prepared, but Genesis is around the corner, and they can have their match at the PPV. The Hardys accept. Now, we just have to wait for the official match graphic.
Steve Maclin speaks
Former TNA International Champion Steve Maclin is backstage with Gia Miller. Maclin wants to reclaim the International Title from Stacks. Eric Young interrupts. The World Class Maniac tries to brainwash Maclin. Young ties Maclin losing the International Champion to his refusal to heed to EY’s words. Maclin better regain the International Championship from Stacks tonight “because the Cleanse is coming.”
Dani Luna vs. Harley Hudson
- The finish of the match saw plant Hudson with a Luna Landing for the win.
Winner: Dani Luna
After the match, Luna grabbed Myla Grace and planted her with a Luna Landing. TNA Knockouts World Champion Lei Ying Lee shows up to make the save. Luna gets out of the ring but reappears once the champion is distracted. The challenger has the champion in a chokehold. Xia Brookside appears and tries to fight off Dani Luna, who responds with another Luna landing. The segment ends with Dani Luna standing tall with the TNA Knockouts World Championship.
Grade: A-
Dani Luna is on a war path. She totally decimated the Knockouts in her post-match assault. I’m really hoping they put the strap on her because she’s that damn good. It’s been some time since TNA had a convincing heel step up for title.
Ryan Nemeth eats another superkick
Nemeth tries to rizz up Mara Sade, who is totally not interested in him. Sade warns Nemeth he’s moving fast. Nemeth is still flirting. She leaves. Nemeth tells himself Sade is totally interested in him only to eat a superkick from the rising knockout.
Order 4 make their way to the ring
The camera then pans to Order 4 making their way to the ring for their Genesis address. Mustafa Ali says the people wants to here from him. We see Elijah show up with his guitar. Elijah looks inside the room. The segment is clearly going to be chaotic.
The search for Mr. Elegance is over???
The Elegance Brand are looking for their Mr. Elegance. Ash by Elegance says who’s there and the camera pans to a backstage crew member. The man tells them he’s been in TNA for eight years. He shot all their segments. The Personal Concierge is clearly not convinced but reluctantly agrees because he can make the man a star.
Order 4 Genesis Address
The members of Order 4 are in the ring. They tease big changes. Mustafa Ali can’t understand El Paso chants but he clearly things they are fans of him. Tasha Steelz clearly knows what the chants mean. Mustafa Ali brings up his feud wit Elijah. Ali tells fans they’ve the opportunity to vote tonight on TNA iMPACT. He wants the TNA management to ban distractions including guitars, cowboy boots, and hands. The crowd boos heavily. Ali is pissed.
We hear the sound of a guitar. It’s Elijah and he’s riding a horse. Elijah threatens to hit Order 4 with his guitar. Order 4 runs into the crowd but find themselves standing right in front of the horse. The segment ends with Elijah pursing Order 4 on his horse.
We are back from commercial and Elijah is still trailing behind Order 4 on his horse. They actually turned this segment into Western-style comedy. Stuff like this makes wrestling goofy and entertaining at same time. I just love it.
Stacks (c) vs. Steve Maclin – TNA International Championship Match
- Steve Maclin picked up the DQ win after Arianna Grace gauged his eyes.
Winner and still TNA International Champion: Stacks
Grade: C+
The match was only starting to get better till they ruined it with the ending. They had a million ways to cause the DQ but the gouging of the eyes… seriously!!! That being said, the DQ ending gives Maclin all the more reasons to challenge for the TNA International Championship.
Rich Swann is done with AJ Francis

Winners: Leon Slater, Cedric Alexander, and The Hardys
Grade: A-
A great main event match to cap off the final TNA iMPACT on AXS TV. Leon Slater is just great to watch. The Twist of Fate into a neck breaker was another cool spot from the match. Now, onto the contract signing segment featuring TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian and challenger Mike Santana.
TNA World Title Contract Signing
TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella is in the ring. Marella says he’s dealing with personal stuff but duty calls. He then introduces the challenger and former TNA World Champion, Mike Santana. TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian is up next. Marella recaps the events that led to to the world title match rescheduled from Genesis to TNA’s AMC premiere.
Marella says if Mike Santana loses, he’s going to the back of the line. However, if Santana wins, he’ll defend the title at Genesis. Kaz picks up the mic. He says nobody wanted Santana in TNA more than he did. He knows what Mike has been through. Kazarian says he’s something to admit publicly. Kaz says he’s an addict. He’s addicted to being the TNA World Champion. Kaz is addicted to being the King of TNA. He’s addicted to being the top guy, and he likes his addiction.
Mike Santana takes his glasses off. Santana says they were both at the same place once, miserable. What they did? They left the place for TNA. Mike says he’s been carrying TNA on his back for the last two years. Santana vows to become the TNA World Champion, again, on January 15th. If Mike can’t win, then, maybe he doesn’t belong in TNA Wrestling. The challenger grabs the contract but before he can sign, Nic Nemeth’s music hits.
Nemeth has his Call Your Shot Gauntlet Trophy. Nic says there’s a reason they are debuting on AMC, and it’s him. It’s Nemeth. Nemeth says he doesn’t like Kaz and Santana but he knows they will beat each other to a bloody pulp. And when they’re done, Nic is going to be waiting to cash-in his trophy. Santana puts pen to paper. Kaz signs as well. The world title match is official for next week, live in Dallas, Texas.
Overall Grade: A-
The end of an era for TNA on AXS TV. This week’s show was mostly solid. Dani Luna ran roughshod through the Knockouts. The ending to Steve Maclin versus Stacks sucked. Elijah chasing away Order 4 on his horse was hilarious. The eight-man tag team match was great. And the main event contract signing… I’m still wondering how nobody got put through a table. The threat of Nic Nemeth adds some intrigue to the world title bout. This writer doesn’t see Santana losing next week. We might end up seeing his first title defense in a three-way at TNA Genesis. Who knows?
