Former WWE Star Plays A Life-Sized Stuffed Animal In New Movie

A former WWE Superstar opens up about his role as a life-sized stuffed animal in his new movie.

Former WWE Tag Team and European Champion Al Snow plays a life-sized stuffed bear in the movie Learning You, which hit the screens on January 16. The film follows Elijah (played by Caleb Milby), an autistic child who goes on a Christmas road trip with his father, and inspires a billionaire developer who also has an autistic son.

Al Snow is playing Nook Bear, a come-to-life stuffed animal who appears in the subconscious. The former WWE star sat down for an exclusive interview with 12 News to promote the film. While he noted that it wasn’t difficult to play an imaginary stuffed animal, Snow shared that it was a challenge to emote while wearing a bear suit.

“Not difficult, you know, to be an imaginary stuffed bear. The voice kind of helped lend itself, I think, to being a bear. But it was really a lot of fun. Definitely a challenge to try to emote being in a bear suit and not making it look silly or cartoony, but try to make it as real as you possibly can.

“So, I certainly enjoyed it, and I had a great time. Especially the lead actor, John Wells, every time he would just look at me and would start laughing. So, I tried everything I could to break him on set. Anytime we were doing a scene together, I would try to make him laugh,” the former WWE star said.

The former WWE star also commented on the comparison between pro wrestling and acting

Speaking further, Al Snow shared his thoughts on the comparison between pro wrestling and acting, explaining why both are completely different worlds.

“It’s a pretty natural extension of what I had already been doing. But when I first came in, and at the very first time, I realized just how dramatically different it was from what I do. When I come out in a wrestling ring, I’m not really an actor. In professional wrestling, what I do is an extension of who I really am.

“If you want to liken it to being an actor, I guess method acting might be close. I’ve got to do everything bigger to reach the audience way up in the cheap seats. Where on film, you gotta go to just the camera and really use more just your eyes and your face to emote and not your whole physical body. So, it’s a different world, and it’s taken a little bit of time to learn the ins and outs, and I’m by no means proficient at doing it, but I really do enjoy it,” the former WWE star said.

Released on January 16, 2026, Learning You currently holds an IMDb rating of 9.0/10 based on 141 user votes.
