Savannah Bananas Star To Compete For Major League Wrestling

A Banana Ball performer is stepping up to the plate for the MLW Battle Riot.

As announced by Major League Wrestling (MLW), Banana Ball star Cody Fluffman will compete at MLW Battle RIOT VIII, which will emanate from the Osceola Heritage Park Events Center in Kissimmee, Florida, on January 29. Fluffman is a cast member of The Savannah Bananas Man-Nanas team, also known as the team’s Dad-Bod Cheerleading Squad.

When he’s not touring the country as a hype man for the Savannah Bananas, Fluffman has been making a name for himself on the independent wrestling scene. He has competed for ACTION Wrestling, Classic City Wrestling, and Intense Wrestling Entertainment, among others. Fluffman made his MLW debut in November 2025 on the pre-show for MLW x Don Gato Tequila.

Battle RIOT VIII will see 40 wrestlers compete for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship, with a new one entering the match every 60 seconds. And with no disqualifications, eliminations can only be scored by pinfall, submission, or sending an opponent over the top rope.

In addition to Fluffman, Killer Kross, Austin Aries, Paul London, Bishop Dyer and Donovan Dijak have been confirmed for the bout. Mads Krule Krugger will enter Battle RIOT VIII as the defending champion. Krugger claimed the title back in September at Fightland.

Elsewhere at the January 29 event, Templario will put the MLW World Middleweight Championship on the line against KUSHIDA. Templario has held the respective title since September as well.

Fans who can’t watch the event live and in person will be able to watch the full show on a 7-day delay. MLW will stream the event for free on YouTube & beIN SPORTS on February 5.
