Jesse Ventura hints at his game plan amid his political differences with Donald Trump.
WWE Hall of Famer Jesse “The Body” Ventura remains a fierce critic of U.S. President Donald Trump. Ventura has been vocal against the administration’s anti-immigration crackdown in his home state of Minnesota.
Last week, he said U.S. citizens are getting what they deserve for electing Trump to a second presidential term, while also highlighting the Republican’s controversial legal and financial history.
During a recent appearance on Rosemary Barton Live, Jesse Ventura was asked whether he was considering another run for Minnesota governor after Tim Walz dropped his reelection bid.
“I’m having that consideration, and other considerations,” Ventura replied.
When asked if that response meant he was mulling a run for president, Ventura said, “No, that’s too far off, that’s three years from now” before teasing a potential run for the upper chamber of Congress.
“Our main person is Sen. (Amy) Klobuchar, and she’s announced she’s coming back to run for governor. Somebody’s got to replace her as a senator, don’t they? And would that not put me eye to eye with (Trump)?”
Ventura also reiterated his stance that Minnesota should hold firm against Trump.
“My position is hold tight, stand tough, and don’t give this guy nothing,” he said. “Because Donald Trump views any concession as a victory for him, and he needs to learn something, this draft-dodging coward – that Minnesota is not going to back down from him. He picked the wrong state to mess with.” [H/T Syracuse]
