WWE WrestleMania 41 breaks all pro wrestling ticket sales revenue records.
According to POST Wrestling, via live event trade publication Pollstar, WrestleMania 41 drew $66 million in combined ticket sales revenue, making it the most profitable pro wrestling event in history when adjusted for inflation.
WWE sold 113,412 tickets for the two nights of WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium on April 19 and 20. Data from Pollstar suggested 58,538 fans attended on Saturday, with Sunday seeing 60,103, bringing the total attendance to 118,641 — a number higher than the official tickets sold.
The report also notes that WrestleMania 41 Sunday generated significantly higher revenue, with 61,389 tickets sold compared to Saturday’s 60,151. Ticket numbers were provided by WrestleTix.
Previously, WWE WrestleMania 40 Night 2 in Philadelphia held the record for the highest gate in pro wrestling history in terms of real-time dollars. When adjusted for inflation, WrestleMania 32 in 2016 held the record, with its $17.3 million gate equaling about $23 million today.
WWE struggling with ticket sales for WrestleMania 42
A recent report noted that WWE is facing low ticket sales for WrestleMania 42, which also takes place at Allegiant Stadium this April. The venue announced a limited-discount offer to help fans secure WrestleMania 42 tickets.
Whether WrestleMania 42 will surpass WrestleMania 41 as the most profitable event in pro wrestling history remains to be seen.
As of this writing, CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship is the only confirmed match for WrestleMania 42, scheduled over two nights on April 18 and 19.
