Newly crowned WWE Intercontinental Champion, Penta, is undoubtedly a fan-favorite on the current roster. And he continues to muster up support after his latest cause. Recently, a video went viral showing him meeting a young fan, which again underscores why he is so popular, especially among kids.
Penta made a substantial impact last week on RAW when he defeated Dominik Mysterio to win the Intercontinental title. It marked Penta’s first title in WWE after chasing the championship for nearly a year. Earlier that night, Mysterio had a backstage interaction with Danhausen, who jokingly “cursed” the Judgment Day member. By the end of the night, that joke seemed to have ramifications and come true as Penta defeated Mysterio.
Nevertheless, the viral heartwarming moment occurred outside the ring.
The WWE Star Took Time To Interact With a Young Fan in a Viral Video
Penta recently shared an Instagram Story video showing him meeting a young fan who was dressed exactly like him. The boy, named Andy, donned a Penta mask and gear.
The story behind the moment made it even more special. The young fan had been selling candy to save money so he could buy a Penta action figure. When Penta heard about this, he decided to meet the young fan himself.
In the video, Penta sat beside Andy and listened to his story. Then he surprised the boy by buying his entire bucket of candy. After that, he also gave Andy a Penta action figure.
It will be a memory the child likely retains for years.
Fans online reacted to the clip and praised the WWE star for the gesture. Many felt that the moment showed what pro wrestling is all about- inspiring young fans and creating heroes they can look up to.
The story also resonated with many people because of Penta’s past.
Before becoming famous in wrestling, Penta grew up in a humble family. He has previously shared that his father worked as a taco vendor and that he sold items as a young boy before becoming a wrestler.
Those experiences shaped who he is today, making his meeting with Andy feel even more meaningful.
