Update On Ronda Rousey’s AEW Future After Revolution Debut — Report

An update on Ronda Rousey‘s AEW future.

Following a victory over Marina Shafir at AEW Revolution, Toni Storm came face-to-face with another member of the MMA’s Four Horsewomen, Ronda Rousey. Before Storm and Rousey could potentially get physical, however, AEW security pulled them apart.

According to Fightful (via Fightful Select), Rousey’s surprise appearance at Revolution can partly be attributed to her proximity to LA’s Crypto.com Arena, which hosted the pay-per-view event. Furthermore, Rousey has maintained a good relationship with AEW CEO Tony Khan, who recently stated that the “Rowdy” one is welcome in the company at “any time.”

Despite all of this, Fightful reports that Rousey is not believed to be under contract with All Elite Wrestling.

PWInsider Elite adds that Rousey is not expected to be back in AEW in the imminent future, with her Revolution appearance reportedly designed as a one-off to also support Shafir and promote her upcoming MMA return fight against Gina Carano. Rousey will take on Carano, a former Strikeforce fighter, on May 16 at an event backed by Netflix and Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.

Revolution 2026 marked Rousey’s debut for AEW, as she had only worked for WWE, then a pair of indie promotions within the wrestling world. In November 2023, Rousey marked her in-ring Ring of Honor debut as well when she and Shafir defeated Athena and Billie Starkz in a tag bout on ROH on HonorClub. As of this writing, she has yet to officially compete in an AEW ring.
