Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up: New AEW Women’s Tag Champs, ROH x MLP Global Wars, Leah Sparks Interview

AEW crowns new Women’s Tag Team Champions. Talents from Ring of Honor and Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling will collide at Global Wars. Arianna Grace will defend the KO Title. Leah Sparks chats with WrestleZone and more!

New AEW Women’s Tag Champs

AEW Revolution 2026 was a busy event for Lena Kross and Willow Nightingale as both women competed in not one, but two matches.

First, on the Revolution pre-show, Kross challenged Nightingale for the TBS Championship. The Australian star seemed poised to unseat the AEW veteran when she descended off the top rope with a split-legged moonsault. Nightingale, though, saw the move coming and promptly moved out of Kross’ path. When Kross then lifted her up for a jackhammer, Nightingale swung her feet back to the ground and surprised Kross with a backslide to retain the TBS Championship.

Nightingale: 1 Kross: 0

That score, of course, later changed when Nightingale and Harley Cameron, together known as the Babes of Wrath, put the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championships on the line against Kross and Megan Bayne, the Divine Dominion.

In this title match’s losing moments, Bayne and Kross neutralized Cameron with a German suplex-big boot combo, leaving Nightingale outnumbered. Bayne seized the opening to nail Nightingale with a running lariat, with her and Kross then planting “The Babe With The Power” with a double chokeslam for the tag team title win.

Elsewhere at Revolution, Thekla successfully defended the AEW Women’s World Championship against Kris Statlander in a two-out-of-three falls match. “Timeless” Toni Storm defeated Marina Shafir in a match where everyone else was banned from ringside. Afterward, Shafir’s long-time friend Ronda Rousey beckoned Storm over for a face-to-face confrontation.

ROH x MLP Global Wars

This Friday, the talents of Ring of Honor and Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling collide in a cross-promotional event titled Global Wars. Amongst the lineup is a trio of matches involving the female champions of ROH.

ROH Women’s World Champion Athena will look to extend her history-making reign when she defends the title against Taylor Rising, a standout name from Hamilton, Ontario. Rising built her stock through a previous stint in the NWA as well.

Elsewhere at Global Wars, ROH Women’s Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo will put her title on the line against Gisele Shaw, the reigning MLP Women’s Canadian Champion. Purrazzo and Shaw are no strangers to one another, as they wrestled numerous times in TNA Wrestling.

Indie star Alice Crowley will challenge Red Velvet for the ROH Women’s Television Championship, marking their first in-ring faceoff.

Additional names advertised for ROH x MLP Global Wars include Maya World and Hyan, who officially joined the All Elite Wrestling and ROH brands at the end of 2025.

Global Wars will emanate from St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, on March 27. The following night, Maple Leaf will host Uprising from the same venue.

Arianna Grace To Defend TNA Knockouts Title

In her second test as TNA Knockouts Champion, WWE NXT’s Arianna Grace will defend the title against two of TNA’s toughest women.

As announced on last week’s episode of Thursday Night iMPACT, “Doomsday” Dani Luna and Lei Ying Lee will challenge Grace for the Knockouts Championship at TNA Sacrifice, set for Friday, March 27. Lee lost the title to Grace at No Surrender last month, and as of now, has yet to receive a rematch. In Luna’s case, visa issues prevented her from traveling, which meant she was unable to compete in her scheduled title match against Lee back in January at TNA Genesis.

To solve the matter, TNA authority figures Santino Marella and Daria Rae arranged for both Luna and Lee to vie for the Knockouts Championship at Sacrifice in a triple threat bout, with Grace defending. So far in her reign, Grace has retained the title by defeating Jody Threat on iMPACT.

Fellow Knockouts Elayna Black and Mara Sade will also be in action at Sacrifice as they battle each other in a No Disqualification match.

TNA Sacrifice will take place inside the Alario Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
