Goldberg Blasts Triple H For Disrespectful Way WWE Retirement Ended

Goldberg says Triple H is probably the “jack*ss” behind his WWE retirement speech getting cut short.

WCW and WWE legend Goldberg retired from in-ring competition at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12, 2025. He took on Gunther at the event and lost the match after passing out to the Ring General’s sleeper hold. He delivered his retirement speech after the match. WWE simulcast the show on NBC and Peacock, and the broadcast ended abruptly during the speech due to time constraints. The promotion later uploaded the full speech on its official YouTube channel.

He has expressed his disappointment about how things turned out on several occasions, and he did the same during an interaction with a fan at a recent meet-and-greet event. When the fan mentioned that the way WWE handled his retirement pi*sed him off, Goldberg noted that the promotion disrespected him. He also agreed when the fan accused Triple H of making the questionable call.

“Yeah, what do you think it did for me? It made me really happy, too,” Goldberg sarcastically said. It just shows what disrespect they have. When the fan asked if Triple H was the “jack*ss” who made that call, he said, “Probably. 100 percent.”

Goldberg said WWE let ‘some girl’ break his record on purpose

During his recent appearance on Real Talk with Mike Burke, Goldberg threw shade at WWE, saying the promotion purposely had Asuka break his 173-match undefeated streak. He even referred to the Empress of Tomorrow as “some girl.”

“Some girl at WWE. They did it on purpose,” Goldberg said (H/T Fightful). “I have nothing against the girl, by any means, but yeah. The whole WWE experience…I was part of WCW when we were kicking their ass in the Monday Night Wars. I didn’t know what was going on at the time, I was just on one of the sides. Now, one side dissolves and the other one consumes everything, so they can treat everyone and everything the way they want.

Goldberg’s comments drew criticism from wrestling personalities and fans, and Asuka herself shared her reaction, saying the Hall of Famer’s remarks didn’t bother her.
