Update on CM Punk’s WWE Absence and Pending Return

A new update has emerged regarding CM Punk‘s WWE absence.

The Straight Edge Superstar hasn’t appeared on WWE television since the RAW after WrestleMania. He teased a potential feud with Cody Rhodes that night, but hasn’t been seen since then. Punk’s last match took place on WrestleMania Sunday, where he lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns.

CM Punk was initially advertised for WWE’s tour of Europe. Later, he was quietly pulled from the shows, sparking all kinds of speculation on social media. However, fans concerned about their favorite wrestler’s status amid his WWE absence need not worry.

According to WrestleVotes Radio, via Fightful Select, Punk is expected to return to WWE television as soon as July. The report also notes that he is scheduled to play a significant role at the two-night SummerSlam premium live event in August.

“One source stated that signs point to Punk returning on or by Monday, July 6, when Raw emanates from the Allstate Arena in Chicago. While that date was not confirmed outright, the expectation is that Punk’s return to television is not far away.”

CM Punk’s rumored issues with WWE seem to be rumors only

The report also addressed CM Punk’s rumored issues with TKO. It notes that “none of the sources we spoke to indicated that any concern regarding the situation had spread throughout the locker room and that there was no discussion of any issues between the two parties. If there are any concerns, things are being kept exceptionally quiet.”

It’s worth noting that CM Punk is at least scheduled for several weeks of WWE RAW. This starts with Monday’s show in Baltimore, which he has been promoted for several weeks. WWE has Punk advertised for events in London (UK), Atlantic City, New Jersey and Chicago. However, it’s always important to remember the card is subject to change.

It is also worth noting that WrestleVotes Radio had previously pushed back against rumors suggesting that WWE creative had no plans for CM Punk. At the time, the outlet indicated that there was no truth to the speculation. Rather, it reinforced the belief that Punk remained part of WWE’s long-term plans despite his absence from television.
