Brie Bella says she and Paige left Europe sad after a last-minute change to WWE SmackDown.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Nikki and Brie Show, reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Brie Bella noted that she and her partner Paige were sad after not getting to appear in front of the crowd during the episodes of SmackDown in Spain (May 29) and Italy (June 5).
Brie Bella revealed that she and Paige were originally supposed to have an in-ring segment on the June 5 episode of SmackDown, but WWE scrapped it at the last minute. They appeared backstage, where they were attacked by Fatal Influence. She said they were bummed after being part of the European Summer Tour and not getting to show up in front of the high-energy crowd.

“Paige and I were so sad not to be out in the… (in front of the crowd) in Italy. They’re so amazing. They’re not quiet for one second. Loud, and they play into the stories. They’re just so great. I know we’ve talked about this before on the podcast, but it does something to the wrestlers. It adds to your energy. So, thank you, Spain, thank you Italy for being outstanding crowds,” the WWE star said.
“Then the Friday, the SmackDown after, Paige and I thought we had a match, and then we didn’t. We were so sad. We were like, ‘Can we please walk out to the crowd and cut a promo?’ We originally were supposed to be out in the crowd and do this thing out in the arena, and last minute, it got switched,” Brie Bella continued.
“We were so bummed. I was like, ‘How is it that I’m in Europe and I did not once walk out to any of those fabulous, high-energy crowds?’ I was so bummed. Paige and I got a lot of love at those places, and so it really bummed us out,” the WWE star said.
Brie Bella and Paige will look to get retribution against Fatal Influence for their attack, as they’ll face Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid on tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
