WWE’s Pete Dunne Addresses Career Status After Indie Return

Pete Dunne recently reflected on his wrestling journey after making a rare indie return. He admitted that the last few years of his career have been a bit of a rollercoaster. However, he still believes he is one of the best wrestlers in the world.

The former NXT UK Champion competed at Attack Pro Wrestling in Cardiff, Wales. Dunne defeated Leon Cage in a singles match. WWE approved the appearance and gave fans a chance to see Dunne wrestling as himself instead of his current masked character, Rayo Americano.

After the match, Dunne spoke to the crowd and shared an honest message about his career.

“I know my career in the last few years has been ups and downs. It’s been a weird ride. But I just want to thank you all for sticking with me. No matter what happens, I promise one thing – any time I’m given a chance to step in this ring, between these ropes, I’m going to prove to you all that I’m still one of the best wrestlers in the whole world,” Dunne said.

The speech connected with fans who have followed Dunne’s career from his rise as one of British wrestling’s biggest stars to his current role in WWE. Once considered the cream of the crop of WWE’s top prospects, Dunne now performs under a mask as part of the Americano-themed group alongside Tyler Bate and Ludwig Kaiser.

The Cardiff event also gave Dunne an opportunity to praise the next generation of British wrestling talent. After defeating Leon Cage, he spoke highly of his opponent and predicted a bright future for him.

Dunne told the crowd that Cage has all the talent needed to become one of the best wrestlers in the business and could even go on to achieve more than he has.

His comments also reflected his confidence in the future of British wrestling. Although the scene has faced challenges in recent years, including the closure of NXT UK and several promotions, Dunne believes the region is still producing great talent.

Dunne has remained busy behind the scenes as well. Along with his WWE appearances as Rayo Americano, he also divides his time as a producer for Lucha Libre AAA. Most recently, he helped produce the well-received Ludwig Kaiser vs. Chad Gable mask match.
