The June 26 episode of WWE SmackDown added another chapter to the ongoing rivalry between United States Champion Trick Williams and Ricky Saints. The two exchanged some heated words ahead of their upcoming title match, but Saints also had to deal with an unexpected reaction from the London crowd before turning things around.
Trick Williams opened the segment with rapper Lil Yachty by his side. After missing last week’s show, Yachty asked where the champion had been. Williams revealed that he had spent the past week in Jamaica celebrating his wedding with Lash Legend. Yachty described the event as a grand celebration.
Williams then reminded everyone that Ricky Saints had become the new No. 1 contender for the United States Championship. The Champion proclaimed he would beat Saints before heading out with both his title and wedding ring.
That brought out the title challenger.
Ricky Saints fires back after London crowd hits him with ‘Who are you?’ chants
Saints first congratulated Trick Williams on getting married, but quickly followed it with a joke, saying Williams wasn’t exactly known for making smart decisions.
Before he could continue, the London crowd started chanting “Who are you?” at him. Instead of letting it bother him, Saints fired back by saying he was “your wife’s favorite lover.” The comeback got a massive reaction.
Williams then warned that he would send Saints “back to London Bridge” as the fans loudly chanted “Whoop That Trick!”
Saints then declared that the Trick Williams hype train was about to end and promised he would leave their title match as the new United States Champion. Williams fired back by saying he would knock Saints’ teeth down his throat. Lil Yachty also got involved, joking that Saints should wear a smaller shoe size.
Saints didn’t want to hear from the rapper. He called him the “peanut gallery” and told him to stay out of the conversation.
The segment then turned physical.
Saints asked if Yachty would come with the championship. When Yachty replied that he would never work for him, Saints suddenly punched the rapper. As Williams checked on his friend, Ricky Saints took advantage of the distraction. He rushed back into the ring and smashed Williams with a microphone and escaped quickly.
The SmackDown segment ended with Trick Williams and Ricky Saints staring each other down, adding even more heat to their upcoming title match.
