AEW introduces a new circular steel cage design for the Forbidden Door main event.
The main event of the 2026 AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view will feature a massive 12-man steel cage match. Team Briscoe, comprising Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly, Konosuke Takeshita, and Darby Allin, will take on Team MJF, comprising the reigning AEW World Champion and Don Callis Family’s Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Kazuchika Okada, and Andrade El Ídolo.
If Team Briscoe secures the victory, Mark Briscoe will get an opportunity to challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship.
Ahead of the high-stakes match, a picture of the steel cage has surfaced on social media. It has a circular design instead of the usual square layout, resembling a smaller version of the classic WWE Elimination Chamber. The promotion showed the first look at the cage during the opening moments of the PPV.
It also looks like the cage will extend beyond the ring, giving the wrestlers extra room to fight. It could indicate things could get more chaotic than expected.
The AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door PPV will take place at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. The opening contest featured AEW’s The Young Bucks vs. CMLL’s El Sky vs. NJPW’s Unbound Co. in a three-way tag team match.
