WWE Star Confirms Injury With New Photo

Layla Diggs has broken her silence after missing what would have been the biggest match of her WWE career.

The NXT standout confirmed her injury by sharing a new social media photo showing her arm in a medical sling, offering fans an update after her sudden absence from this week’s show.

Although Diggs remains optimistic, her latest post also highlights the disappointment of seeing a long-awaited championship opportunity slip through her fingers.

Layla Diggs shares positive message after injury setback

Diggs suffered the injury during an untelevised WWE NXT live event in Sebring, Fla., over the weekend. While WWE has not disclosed the exact moment or move that caused the injury, NXT General Manager Robert Stone later confirmed she was not medically cleared to compete on the July 14 episode of NXT.

That ruling forced Diggs out of her scheduled NXT Women’s North American Championship match against Zaria. The title opportunity came after Diggs earned the No. 1 contender’s spot by winning a Fatal Four-Way Match, making it the biggest singles opportunity of her young WWE career.

Following the setback, Diggs posted a photo on Instagram showing her wearing a medical sling while maintaining a positive outlook. She captioned the post: “Different stages of grief. Serving, sad face, happy, back to serving. Still giving EVERYTHING ✨ Thank you everyone for reaching out, I have a lot to say and need to respond. But currently living inside my bubble of positivity, everything happens for a reason. And everything works together for my good. I’ll be back and I’ll be better ??.”

The encouraging message suggests Diggs is already focused on recovery despite the frustrating timing. As the saying goes, every comeback needs a setup, and she appears determined to kick out at two rather than stay down for the three-count.

With Diggs sidelined, Stone changed the scheduled title bout into a Fatal Four-Way Match featuring Zaria, Izzi Dame, Lizzy Rain, and Nikkita Lyons. Zaria ultimately retained the NXT Women’s North American Championship by pinning Lyons after delivering an F-5.

WWE has not announced the nature of Diggs’ injury or provided a timetable for her return. Until then, her championship aspirations will remain on hold as she continues her recovery.
