Emily Mae Heller Details Mission Pro Bringing The ‘Community Passion’ To Wrestling, Hypes ‘Silver Bells’

Mission Pro Wrestling is growing by leaps and bounds on the independent wrestling scene. The all-women-operated promotion is owned by Thunder Rosa of AEW and ‘La Mera Mera’ puts as much passion into MPW as she does any time she steps in the ring or octagon.

Dominic DeAngelo spoke with Emily Heller of Mission Pro about their upcoming holiday event “Silver Bells” which takes place at the Salvation Army on December 11 in San Antonio, Texas. Heller is most often seen as an on-air interviewer but she wears many hats behind-the-scenes for Mission Pro, and she spoke with Dominic DeAngelo of WrestleZone about how important teaming up with the Salvation Army is to Mission Pro.

“Part of the proceeds is gonna go to Peacock Boys & Girls Club and all of the Salvation Army programs. It’s really an incredible thing that we get to give back,” she said. “There’s the Angel Tree program (VOLUNTEER/DONATE HERE) where you can bring an unwrapped toy and so if you guys are going to the show live you can bring your unwrapped toy and put it under the tree and all of that is going to go to kids and families and it’s just an incredible way to give back especially at the end of this tough year.”

They’ll also have a special Salvation Army kettle featuring Thunder Rosa on it as she aims to raise $2,500 in a Parade of Kettles campaign. (DONATE HERE) Mission Pro has always embedded itself in helping out in the San Antonio and Texas area as they keep compassion and understanding as a primary focus.

“It’s a very important part of our mission is we want to give back. We want to make sure that we’re not only having entertaining shows and giving women a platform to do the amazing things that they get to do in the ring and behind the scenes but we’re also giving back and I know that’s a very important thing for Thunder Rosa and for the team at Mission Pro is really making sure we’re building a community in San Antonio and across Texas and perhaps other cities eventually, but we really want to make sure that we’re giving back cause it’s a huge part of what we need to do as human beings and connecting to each other.”

Where does that mindset stem from? None other than Thunder Rosa.

“Thunder Rosa is the leader in setting the standard of how we kind of do these shows and how we treat each other and how we build each other up and so there’s definitely a comradery and a sense of teamwork and leadership that comes from her and she’s so inspiring in the sense of that if you have questions or if you have any concerns or if you are unsure of doing certain things, like to her and talking to her especially if you’ve been at Mission Pro for a while or if you want to try something new. There’s so much wisdom and industry knowledge that she has and also passion that she has for helping other people cause she does have a background in social work and she’s bringing that community passion to everything that she does, so she’s giving these women once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.”

As for the card on tap for Silver Bells, Heller gives a very impressive line-up that includes Rosa in a historic match for her as well as her son.

“Thunder Rosa is teaming for the first time ever with her son Anakin Rosa against JP Harlow and Mighty Myra and this was announced and blew up the internet and I’m so excited for this. This is a historic match. Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think there’s ever been a mom and son, in particular, tag team. I know the internet is still searching. I think there’s still a search,” Heller said. “If you guys can’t see it live in San Antonio go and watch it on Title Match Network on December 11 because this is going to be a historic match. He’s been training really really hard.”

Also on tap for the event is upstart Nikita Knight who had her debut match against Rosa, but a tandem all of Mission Pro has been popping for has been The Renegade Twins.

“They’re our first ever Mission Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champions. Everyone just loves them. I’m so excited to see what happens with them.”

Heller also notes the great talent of MPW stalwart Madi Wrenkowski who just last month faced the company’s current World Champion, Holidead.

“I think another person everyone is watching is Madi Wrenkowski She’s really only been training only about two years, maybe a little bit over two years? She’s all over the place and has been a huge part of Mission Pro Wrestling.”
