Santos Escobar On Zelina Vega: It’s Only Fitting A Boricua Gets A Match At Backlash

Legado Del Fantasma will have La Reina’s back.

WrestleZone recently spoke with Legado Del Fantasma’s Santos Escobar, Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde. During the conversation, Legado was asked about Zelina Vega possibly getting a match at WWE Backlash.

Vega previously told WrestleZone that being able to compete in Puerto Rico would mean a lot to her, noting that she’d love to face Rhea Ripley.

“Because I would have my David versus Goliath match in my home,” Vega explained. “I mean, really, I’d have my family there. I would have the support of everybody that’s supported me throughout the years. And it just feels like a perfect scenario, you know?

Legado Del Fantasma was asked to follow up on Vega’s comments, and Santos Escobar said that it makes a lot of sense for her to get a match in Puerto Rico.

“Absolutely. Yes, I think this is the first premium live event in Puerto Rico. I think it’s only fitting that a boricua, a Puerto Rican woman had the opportunity to go up against any of the two champions and try to capture the Women’s Championship,” Santos Escobar said. “Why not? And if that’s the case, we’re going to be there to have La Reina’s back.”

Cody Rhodes recently challenged Brock Lesnar, but no matches have been confirmed for WWE Backlash as of this time.
