Dirty Dango Plays The Numbers Game, Wants To Leave TNA Hard To Kill In One Piece

Dirty Dango looks ahead to his match at TNA Hard To Kill.

On Saturday evening, TNA Wrestling will host its annual Hard To Kill event from the Palms Casino Resort in Paradise, Nevada. Seven matches have been announced for the show’s main card, including a singles affair between PCO and Dirty Dango. WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard spoke with Dirty Dango ahead of this event, discussing his upcoming matchup against PCO — whom Dango describes as a “Frankenstein.”

“I’m trying not to think about it too much,” Dango said. “I’ve been asked numerous times, ‘What’s your game plan going into a match with the Frankenstein Quebecer?’ I don’t really have one. I don’t know how you get a game plan to go in against a guy like that. Just hopefully, the numbers game. I’ve got Alpha Bravo and Oleg [Prudius] ringside, so hopefully, they got my back, which they certainly will. So [my goal is to] hopefully be able to get on my red-eye home in one piece.”

PCO Is A ‘Real-Life Horror Action Star’

In a previous conversation with former IMPACT World Champion Steve Maclin, PCO was labeled as the Jason Voorhees of IMPACT/TNA Wrestling. And while Dango doesn’t consider himself to be a horror film buff, he does agree with the sentiment that PCO resembles some sort of real-life horror character.

“I’ve never been a big horror horror guy. I think my dad used to make us watch him when we were kids, and it kind of screwed me up. That Cape Fear movie really rocked me and I never [recovered]. It really messed me up, man. I never got into Jason or Halloween or any of that stuff. But PCO is definitely a real-life horror action star,” Dango said.

“I mean, look at the guy. So most likely, one of us are going to get thrown or fall off something or hit the mat or the ground really hard. Hopefully, it’s him. I’ve been watching the guy since ’93. He’s been on TV for 30 years now. So hats off to him for reinventing himself, but hopefully, he doesn’t kill me. We’ll see.”

Working With Alpha Bravo and Oleg Prudius

As Dirty Dango mentioned, he will not be heading to Hard to Kill alone. He will be accompanied by his allies Alpha Bravo and Oleg Prudius, who is formerly known as WWE’s Vladimir Koslov. On the topic of Prudius, Dango declared that the former WWE Tag Team Champion brings a sense of legitimacy to their trio.

“I helped train Oleg when he first came to Deep South when he was 340 pounds right from the sambo world of Ukraine. I’m just glad he’s on my team. He’s the real deal,” Dango said. “He’s won gold medals in sambo, and he’s the real deal. He brings legitimacy to our squad, which is good because you want a guy like that on your side, you don’t want to be wrestling [him] for sure.”

Dango offered applause for Alpha Bravo as well, touting him as a “great utility guy.” Dango also noted that Bravo isn’t afraid to show initiative and present different ideas for their work in IMPACT/TNA Wrestling.

“[Bravo] gets his role. I’ve had managers in the past where they’re trying to get more of the spotlight on themselves ringside. He gets pro wrestling, he’s been doing it a long time. He gets character, he gets promos, he gets what we’re doing,” Dango said. “I like him personally, backstage, and he’s easy to get along with.”

“Just like what I do with construction, if I got a guy on my crew that I just don’t get along with, I’m not going to keep hiring and bringing him back. So he’s a team player, brings ideas to the table, and he shows initiative. He shows up with new gear and ideas. We’ve got some ideas we’ve been talking about over the last month,” he said. “It’s nice to have someone to work with someone who’s been around the business a while. You don’t have to kind of hand feed them and walk them through everything.”
