Booking to Potential – Booking to Awesomeness

From here Kofi would go on to completely dominate the Miz in every way. Seemingly out of pure stupidity and stubbornness the Miz continues to kick out until he is finally hit with Trouble in Paradise.

At Hell in a Cell the match would be a complete mirror image of the match just six days prior. Kofi is stopped dead in his tracks at every turn. Every move is blocked or countered and every leap is met with a clever drop kick to the mid-section.

After attempting Trouble in Paradise at a risky spot in the match, the Miz ducks then catches the champion with his full nelson face-smash to capture the title. Immediately after taking the belt, the Miz runs to the back where he is intercepted by Josh Matthews.

“Miz! Miz! That has to be without a doubt the most dominating performance of your career! How did defeating a superstar like Kofi Kingston become such a walk through the park after such a defeat at your so called exhibition this past Monday night on Raw?”

The Miz, crazed and breathing heavily responds,

“I’m not about to come out here and say that Kofi Kingston was a weak wrestler. He is without a doubt one of the best in the business today as shown by the fact that this title was around his waist less than an hour ago.

Kofi Kingston didn’t lose because he isn’t as good of an athlete or even as sound of a wrestler as me. Kofi Kingston is guilty of being two things. Kofi Kingston is complacent, and Kofi Kingston is gullible.

Exhibition match? You mean Kofi Kingston spelling out his entire game plan to me. Kofi Kingston relied on the same tired offense that every other complacent joke on this roster has fallen to.

To survive in the WWE you must adapt. You must do your homework. You must be smarter than your competition. You must do all of these things if you want to accomplish the one thing that separates the good from the AWESOME!”

The Miz holds up the United States Championship to the camera,

“YOU MUST WIN!”

He exits.

From here the Miz goes on to be the Superstar who is tirelessly scouting his opponents. Vignettes of him watching tape and sparring with opponents will become common place and before long the Miz will become one of the most credible competitors on the program.

Thanks for reading everyone. Make sure to read next week where I’ll examine another superstar and how they can be booked to their full potential.
