Matt Hardy#3. Matt Hardy's…Right!?

Anyone check out the Matt Hardy interview from yesterday where he talks about wrestlers needing mandatory time off? I did, and I agree with him. I've talked about this several times in the past and feel it would not only help guys heal up, but it would also allow creative development time in their absence.

Hardy said, "I wish they would give guys a few weeks off. I think guys need to take mandatory time off. I know it’s tough when they need to promote the key names, but they need to keep guys healthy. It would help them not to burn out and from tempting them to make mistakes."

I understand why Vince can't do off-seasons — although we'll get a glimpse of what it would be like with Jeff Katz' "Wrestling Retribution Project" — but a rotation of some kind to allow superstars a little time off is definitely doable. Why wait until they're forced out due to injuries?

I believe it would help Creative as well. During the wrestlers' absence, the creative team could work on fresh material for their return.

I'm all for Matt Hardy's suggestion and if nothing else, wrestlers should rotate the house show schedule. Just working tv would accomplish a lot in terms of time needed for injuries to heal and the mental toll it takes on wrestlers.
